Achromopeptidase solution is a type of enzyme solution that is often used in scientific and medical research. Achromopeptidase is an enzyme that is derived from a species of bacteria known as Streptomyces griseus. This enzyme has the ability to hydrolyze certain types of proteins, specifically those with an aromatic amino acid on the N-terminal end. Achromopeptidase is effective for the lysis of gram positive bacteria compared to lysozyme. It works best between pH 8.5 -9. Approximately 500-1,500 μn/ml achromopetidase can be used to lyse cells at a density of OD₆₀₀ = 0.6 over 2 hours at 37 °C.In practical applications, achromopeptidase solution is often used in the field of microbiology.
